The Sport Aviation Revolution

Advanced Aero returns the thrill to flying with a two seat pusher that is fun to fly and economical to operate. With the introduction of its new Vortex aircraft, Advanced Aero captures the full opportunity of the 2004 FAA rule that created the Light Sport Aircraft (LSA) market.

The Vortex stands in stark contrast to the scaled-down conventional designs adopted by virtually all its LSA competitors. The Vortex LSA is a next generation design that is sleek and modern, yet inexpensive to purchase and operate, and easy to fly and maintain.

... continue the tradition, a gift of flight.

The sleek, jet-like appearance of the Vortex was designed to appeal to both those who dream of entry into the flying experience and to senior pilots who want a practical, but attractive and cost effective plane for recreation.

Just as importantly, Advanced Aero's patented Inverted V-Tail (IVT) design enables a stronger, safer, more efficient airframe technology that satisfies the FAA's Light Sport Aircraft goal for economical but reliable aircraft.

Background

The aviation industry has been promoting an economical, recreational category of aircraft. Recently, this effort was compiled into the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Light Sport Aircraft (LSA) ruling, effective September 1, 2004.

Advanced Aero began developing new concepts and leading edge technology to optimize a design for the new Light Sport Aircraft market even before the LSA ASTM standards were adopted. A central feature of these studies, the Inverted V-Tail, and its benefits to the overall design is discussed under Advantages.
